International Forensics & Business Institute now
offers its one-year (part-time) Certified Forensic Counterfeit Examination Program.
Graduates of this program become trained as Certified Forensic Counterfeit Specialists
This highly specialized forensic training program
provides students with the expert knowledge, training and skills needed to conduct forensic examinations and to be able
to detect and report on all types of counterfeits. Participants will be taught all forensic methodologies and detection techniques
employed in the detection of counterfeited documents which includes all types of identity documents such as passports and
identification cards as well as currency notes, credit cards and altered & counterfeited documents of all types.
Students will also be taught various aspects of counterfeit detection including detection of alterations and tampering. The
program also provides training on writing forensic reports and providing expert testimony in court. The program runs for one
academic year (nine calendar months) on a part-time basis. It consists of one three-hour tuition session per week spread over
three semesters. The training will be provided by IFBI's usual complement of court qualified forensic experts in accordance
with the internationally accepted ASTM guidelines for forensic training. At the end of the program graduates will become fully
trained and competent to conduct forensic counterfeit examinations, detect counterfeits and to be able to issue and certify
reports that meets court acceptability standards. In keeping with ASTM standards for forensic training graduates will also
become Certified Forensic Counterfeit Examination Specialists.

The cost of the program is as follows:
Fees: TT$ 8,000 per semester (Total TT$24,000.00)
Registration Fees: TT $ 900.00. Examination Fee: US$ 300.00 (due in
the 3rd semester).

A combination of academic and
/or working experience is required or a minimum of four (4) CXC subjects subjects or an equivalent combination of academic
qualifications and experience.
The course is open to a wide range of individuals: accounting
personnel, accountants, auditors, banking personnel, investigators, executives, managers, supervisors, business owners, company
employees, risk assessment and insurance personnel, attorneys, law enforcement and security personnel, ACCA graduates & students,
and Graduating secondary school students. The program is open to all governmental, statutory and private organisations
and private individuals.
